My 5 Beauty Essentials

Everyone asks me, if I had to choose my 5 favorite makeup items I never know what to say. I'm a makeup addict...so I love it all and they are all essential in some way. So after giving it some thought, I was able to narrow down on some basic makeup essentials. Hope you enjoy it!

#1 Concealer/Foundation

I put these in the same category simply because you can use either or. Sometimes I’ll use concealer just under my eyes and to cover some blemishes. If I'm having a really "off" skin day I’ll use foundation or something light, like a BB cream.

#2 Powder

I'll always use a powder to set my liquid makeup. It makes for a more flawless finish and it helps the concealer or foundation last all day. If I'm really rushed I'll skip step 1 completely and I'll just use a powder all over the face to keep the shine at bay.

#3 Blush

I'll use this just to bring back a bit of color to my face. Usually I'll use something in a peachy tone, but if I use a bronze color, it can double as a bronzer/contour.

#4 Mascara

If I forget everything else in this list, but only have to choose one, it would be mascara. even if I don't have anything on my face, mascara will open up your eyes and make you look more awake and youthful.

#5 Brows

This step is what brings the simple look together. When I'm doing a light makeup day, I won't draw on Instagram brows, ill just fill in the sparse areas. For those who are lucky enough to have nice full brows...DON"T PLUCK THEM! Just some clear brow gel to keep them in place will do.

There it is! My 5 beauty essentials. This list can be used for a beginner’s kit or as something to keep in your purse. Just remember that these are all options. You can look just as beautiful without all the makeup, but sometimes it’s fun to play around with it. Keep being beautiful on the inside and you'll always be beautiful on the outside as well, no matter what you put on your face.
